Medical cannabis is legal in Oklahoma. The state's medical marijuana program was approved by voters in 2018 and implemented shortly after. Adult-use (recreational) cannabis remains illegal.

Step 2

Register with the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority (OMMA).

Step 3

Pay the application fee and submit required documentation.

  • Valid Oklahoma driver's license or state ID
  • Proof of residency
  • Physician recommendation
  • Application fee ($100 for patients, $20 for patients on Medicaid or Medicare as of 2024)
  • Visit the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority website
  • Complete the online application
  • Upload required documents, including physician recommendation
  • Pay the application fee
  • Await approval (processing time typically 14 business days)
  • Obtain a new recommendation from an Oklahoma-licensed physician
  • Submit a renewal application online
  • Pay the renewal fee ($100, or $20 for patients on Medicaid or Medicare as of 2024)
  • Renew every two years
