Both medical and adult-use (recreational) cannabis are legal in Missouri. Medical marijuana was legalized in 2018, and adult-use cannabis was legalized in November 2022 with sales beginning in February 2023.

Missouri allows telemedicine for medical cannabis consultations, including initial certifications and renewals.

Step 2

Register with the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS).

Step 3

Pay the application fee and submit required documentation.

Application fee ($25.58 for standard patient ID card as of 2024)

Visit the Missouri Medical Marijuana Program website
Complete the online application
Upload required documents, including physician certification
Pay the application fee
Await approval (usually within 30 days)

Obtain a new certification from a state-licensed physician
Submit a renewal application online
Pay the renewal fee ($25.58 as of 2024)
Renew annually
